Thanks. It turns out I pasted that snippet in the wrong place when I built out the block. I had it in the function defining the Field Group for the block instead of the Block’s definition. Not sure how I made that error, but that solved it, thanks. 🙂
@okadots I’m not sure what fixed it, but the site does not seem to have this issue anymore. They switched hosting companies, but I don’t know if the hosting change, site caching, or plugin update fixed the issue. Sorry I can’t be more help.
my solution sort of solved what i was ultimately trying to do, but my question still remains, is there a way to store the value of a flexible content or repeater field to a variable, and then run the have_rows or something else on it to access the sub_fields and run through the field content as normal.
So I just realized I’ve been overlooking a rather simple solution:
<?php if(is_404()||is_search()){
$myFlexID = 'option';
}else{
$myFlexID = get_the_ID();
}
if( have_rows('qd_flex_page_content', $myFlexID) ):
$slideshow = false;
$flexCounter = 0; ?>
<div id="pageContentBlocks">
<?php while ( have_rows('qd_flex_page_content', $myFlexID) ) :
CloudFlare is a service that the client uses, mostly for website caching. It seems to also do some website security as well.
Ok, It looks like this is still a problem that I need to try and address.
The website uses the Enable Media Replace plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-media-replace/) and the CloudFlare service.
If I disable the plugin, and switch CloudFlare to Developer Mode, than the image fields in ACF work just fine.
It appears that the problem I’m experiencing is a conflict between ACF and one of several media library plugins the client installed. I’m in the process of checking this.
Has there been any update on this yet? This is a bug that still persists on any field (not just the Post Object field) that has filters for Post Type and Taxonomy, such as Page Link and Relationship fields.
@wilirius, we are on Rackspace as well, and we are wondering if maybe Rackspace made an update to the servers. I’ve been able to update all 3 sites that currently use ACF pro. But with 2 of the sites, we had to spam the product key input a few times before it accepted it. So any that are not taking your product key, just try it a few times, and see if that fixes it.
To everyone else, anyone with this problem, that is NOT using Rackspace, try to enter your product key and update now, so we can determine if this issue is resolved across the board, or only for Rackspace customers.
This issue is not solved. With my hosting environment, I have no problem updating dozens of other plugins, several of which are NOT hosted with WordPress, such as Gravity Forms, and have never had issues auto-updating plugins.
We can gladly set up a hosting environment here and give ACF’s devs access so they can take a look and attempt to troubleshoot this issue. I know I’m not the first to offer this, has a dev at ACF taken anyone up on the offer yet, in order to look into this further?
I’ve never had any problems, and still have no problem updating any of my sites that are using ACF (not PRO), all hosted on the same server as the 2 sites I’m currently developing which are using PRO. The PRO sites cannot connect to the update server to submit my License Key, but all the other sites have no issues with pre-PRO ACF.
If I create a clean WP install, and add ACF Pro, as soon as I go to the Update page on the menu, it already says “Error. Could not connect to update server”
I’ve copied and pasted my code from my account here multiple times, with the same results. I’m certain I’m entering the correct code, but it cannot submit the information.
@mttd, luckily, you can always download the latest version, and install that on the site. You won’t lose any field data, it’s just not a preferred solution.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I’ve been unable to find a fix for this.
I just removed the plugin, downloaded a new copy from the website, and installed that, and still no luck connecting to the update server.
Sorry, maybe I hadn’t mentioned this part before, but this is the first site we’ve updated to ACF Pro. The other sites we host are running ACF 4.x, and can still update without a problem.
I deactivated all plugins but ACF Pro, installed Twenty Fourteen theme, tried to enter my license, and still get the following errors:
Connection Error. Sorry, please try again
Error. Could not connect to update server
All the other plugins update without any problem on this site, and all the other sites we have hosted on our Rackspace account.
I’ve tried disabling all other plugins, and attempt to enter my license number into ACF Pro, but it still cannot connect to submit the license number.
Oddly enough, I’m on Rackspace Cloud Sites as well for hosting.
Sorry about reviving a pretty old thread, but any news on this feature?
