Thanks a HUGE lot for that article. I’m sure this will take away a lot of frustration I’m having with WPML. Thanks!
It’s true that WPML is far from great but I’m not aware there’s a better solution for complex multilingual websites.
Hube2, have you tried other multi-language plugins that allow some advanced options (string translation, translated CPT slugs, …)?
Thanks, let’s hope for a quick release. I’ve got sites I can’t put out because of these issues.
Any news on this? I’m still a in royal amount of pain in the ass with ACF Pro 5.0.8 and WPML 3.1.7.2
It’s a shame because both of these plugins are the best in their sectors.
+1 to delete unused fields.
These unused fields are still recognised by WPML which turns out to be a mess when you translate sites.
Once again WPML and ACF don’t work well together. Some days they do, other days they don’t. There’s no easy way to set these two plugins up well.
WPML 3.1.7.2 and ACF Pro 5.0.8
Jeremie’s settings don’t work in my site.
Hi Dushan,
this feature was implemented in version 5 of ACF. Check it out.
I’ve got issues with ACF Pro 5.0.6 and the newest version of WPML (3.1.7.2).
I want to translate field groups but the duplication hangs… that wheel keeps spinning forever.
+1
I’m still struggling with ACF (5) and WPML from now and then. Even after years of using both of them.
I despise Types; the usability and look & feel is a disaster compared to ACF.
Nearly one year later I’d like to know if there are any improvements on this issue?
I love how all ACF works fine (Repeater, Flexible Content) with WPML but the Options page is not…
Bart
I’m using ACF 4.3.4. and Repeater 1.1.1. I’ll try the latest build on GitHub.
Edit: tried the GitHub version. Everything’s fine for now. Thanks!
Hi Elliot,
I don’t want to be impolite, but do you have an idea how much time it’s going to take to fix this issue? I kinda need this in a live website where my client’s waiting to input content.
thanks in advance,
Bart
Here you go. It’s the specific field group I was talking about.
Thanks for the reply, Elliot!
Just to make sure I made myself clear. I’m in for a solution but the position of the button is completely irrelevant.
I can be above, aside or below the select field… 🙂
Bart
You’re right. It was JS bugging things up. I’m sorry for thinking this might’ve been ACF.
Where do I find this GitHub version?
Okay,
I fixed it myself. I loaded my JS in the footer of the page and now everything works.
The problem was JavaScript related.
HOWEVER: When I echo the true/false when it’s set to ‘off’ the echo is empty. Is this normal?
Thanks for the help!
Thanks,
== doesn’t change a thing.
I’ve got no fallback. I want to run the script when the true/false is selected. When it’s unselected I want no scripting.
Checkbox checked + if (omd_table_filters === true) => WORKS
Checkbox unchecked + if (omd_table_filters === true) => breaks script. I just expect that the code inside the statement gets ignored. Instead it breaks.
Also, when I echo the true/false when it’s set to ‘off’ the echo is empty. Is this normal?
Thanks, that makes sense!
Thanks for the tip.
This works fine, visually, when there are no gray metaboxes.
Thanks! Works perfectly now!
Excellent! This is a much wanted feature!
Thanks Elliot, for pointing me in the good direction.
