As of version 5.8.4 (Pro) the issue is NOT resolved. I get this error message when trying to edit a field group:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Maximum function nesting level of '256' reached, aborting! in /Users/petermumford/Documents/network/wp-content/plugins/advanced-custom-fields-pro/includes/acf-utility-functions.php on line 81
I’m not sure why I was trying to include a menu that way when I posted, but if I was doing it now I would:
This is supposedly solved but I’m still having a problem. This does not work:
remove_filter ('acf_the_content', 'wpautop');
First, my WYSIWYG fields are in a repeater, if that makes a difference.
Second, my fields contain shortcodes. If I output my fields like this:
the_sub_field('wysiwyg_field', false, false);
The extra line breaks and p tags are gone, but shortcodes are not executed.
update: guy_b’s solution did solve the issue.
I’d like to see this idea explored further.
Ah, how perfect is that? Thank you folks for this amazing plugin.
Hi, I don’t think the tinymce editor is created by another plugin. I’m just using ACF’s own Wysiwyg Editor fields. I’ve attached two screenshots to illustrate the problem:
Its hard to edit code with no formatting like that. I’d like the line breaks and indentation of the code.
Regarding field names, they are short.
field group is Front Page
repeater field is Slider
sub-fields are slider image, slider header, and slider text
Also, non-repeating fields added to the same group will not save.
I have repeater fields in a field group specific to one page. They won’t save. I’ve also tried creating simple non-repeating text fields on pages. They won’t save either.
I can create new fields on field groups that were created for the previous site. Fields in the old groups do save.
I’m having trouble getting custom field values to save. I have increased the values of all of these variables to:
I still cannot save my fields.
I think the issue might have to do with having imported the database from a different WP install. The fields that were created for the old install continue to save. But any new fields I create don’t save. The new install is running on a localhost server. Also, I’m not using any caching.
If I understand the OP correctly, I have a similar issue, although not on the options page.
I can make custom fields, but their values do not save when I hit Publish. I do have some custom fields that save their data, but when I make new custom fields, I can’t save their data.
I do not have any caching plugins.
I think I am having the same problem. You can give a field a so called “Default Value”. But it seems that if you don’t actually set a value for the field it does not have the default value, it has a null value.
I have tried this code:
$term_field = get_the_terms($post->ID, 'job_title');
$intro = get_field('intro', $term_field);
echo $intro
But it does not work.
