It seems to be a problem caused by WPML conflicts again, doing the trick as suggested here: http://support.advancedcustomfields.com/forums/topic/acf-not-playing-nice-with-wpml/
it seems to fix. When will we see a stable version? 🙂
Unfortunately today I updated from an old 4.x version of acf to pro5 and wpml from 2 to 3 and i could get nothing to work. The default language works perfectly, the second one (wpml-ed one) doesn’t show fields in frontend and it doesn’t save fields in backend. Even a print_r of fields show nothing 🙁
I had to revert back to all previous one 🙁
Wow, so I’m not crazy 🙂 I hope you’ll fix these soon!
Hi Elliot,
1. I think it is an ACF5 bug. With ACF5-relationship field, as described before (post type called “products”, realtionship field called “related_products”, using that code) you get no excerpt.
2. Windows 7 x64, chrome (last version). I try to be more clear. Into /post-new.php?post_type=acf-field-group, click on “add field”, default type is “text”. Click on “text” (to change field type). While you see the ajax loader, if you click keyboard up or down it adds (and show all the loaders) other fields options. (see screnshots)
3. I can’t explain this better. I created a group of fields, than another. I moved some fields from 1 to 2, saved (maybe it’s publish button the problem). Then I exit ACF groups menu, came back and no fields appear.
Same problem, could not get neither excerpt, nor content using relationship. I solved using Basic loop (without setup_postdata), instead of using postdata
The problem was caused by WPML (probably something they fixed with update)
I have the same problem, this is my code, what’s wrong?
<?php
$ids = get_field('correla_blog_post');
$query = new WP_Query(array(
'post_type' => get_post_type(),
'posts_per_page' => 1,
'post__in' => $ids
));
if( $ids ): ?>
<div class="posts-list clearfix">
<?php foreach( $ids as $post): // variable must be called $post (IMPORTANT) ?>
<?php setup_postdata($post); ?>
<article class="post-item">
<figure><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php the_post_thumbnail('t300x200'); ?></a></figure>
<h2><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2>
<div class="entry-excerpt"><p><?php the_field('riassunto_per_anteprima'); ?></p></div>
</article>
<?php endforeach; ?>
</div>
<?php wp_reset_postdata(); // IMPORTANT - reset the $post object so the rest of the page works correctly ?>
<?php endif; ?>
If I change ids to $posts in the foreach it show me 1 result but without thumbnail and extra-fields.
Is there any update from this? Have you introduced this modification yet? 🙂
Obviously giving the possibility to edit title, caption, ALT etc dirctly by clicking on its and not simply showing them (in list view)
Maybe it could be easier to add an “order” field to the repeater that easily make possible to reorder drag-and-drop items by name ASC or DESC for example. (leaving drag and drop working, so if after reorder I want to drag an Item this impact on the query)
Something like this for example (see attachment).
Or you shoul use repeater field or layou field (both for 25$)
Did it! I hope Elliot will consider this, unfortunately I can’t tag him directly here: http://support.advancedcustomfields.com/forums/topic/possibility-to-choose-different-order-form-dragdrop/
Thanks again guy!
Yeah! It works! I had to put ‘posts_per_page’ to ‘-1’ and it’s perfect! Why wouldn’t you add this feature (to choose different order from drag and drop) into the plugin? Is it possible? 🙂
I tried again but doesn’t work. It show title now but not in alphabetic order, it follows the normale darg&drop order.
It doesn’t work, even after updating the page 🙁 If you want to have a deep check i’ll give you credentials (by mail)
Nothing to do, even selecting Post ID i can’t se the_title
Yea! I updated WP to 3.6.1 (from 3.6) and options page and limiter field and now it has appeared. I’ll do a try with your code now…
I’ve got the last version. I see the field like you if not into a repeater. Try to create a repeater field and you see these disappear 🙂 Maybe it’s only a bug to fix 😀
Hi, I have no “Return Value” to set into Relationship field, look at my backend screenshot:
