  • Hi Elliot,

In the latest version (acf pro 5.1.4.) the option to load and save terms to post appears to be broken again. It worked in 5.1.3 but now it will not save the taxonomy select field I created. When I turn off the option it saves again, however the other option is greatly appreciated and hope it will work again soon. Or if you have any other ideas, please let me know.

    Cheers,
    Maggie

  • Hi Elliot,

Thanks for the explanation page. I always set things up the same way and it works for me.

  • In WPML I set the ‘field groups’ to translate. Then you translate the field group in ACF (just duplicate or copy). You don’t have to change anything, they just need to be translated.

Which versions of WPML and ACF do you use?

I can take a look at your settings if you want.

  • Hi KS, you would probably have to translate it via wpml > translation management > #tab multilingual content setup

When you scroll down you will see “Custom Field Translation” there you will probably find your custom field and you can set the translation instruction there.

  • did you duplicate the post from the original language or did you use the + button to add the translation? When you duplicate you have to click the “translate independantly” button or else it will not translate.

  • I have the same problem. I had everthing set up so the things that don’t need translation would get the value from the original language, now I have to translate everything. The way I set it up was to have options pages (via the “acf_add_options_page” function) in the other languages and i appended the languagecode to the fields that needed to be translated and used ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE to get the correct field for the language. I believe the way it is set up now you don’t have to use the ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE anymore, however now I have to translate everything… I don’t think that that was the intention of duepi.biz who suggested the code.

I use $field = get_field(‘your field’, option); and it translates the fields, but I don’t want to have to translate things that can be the same in other languages (like telephonenumbers).
    Please can someone enlighten us?
