Sorry, I just realised the pasteboard links in my original message don’t play well with this forum’s interface. I have attached them again.

After much testing we discovered the issue was being caused by Cloudflare – https://www.stevejenkins.com/blog/2012/05/fixing-wordpress-admin-issues-with-cloudflare-page-rules/

We setup page rules to exclude wp-admin from various Cloudflare components and this issue resolved. Hopefully this post will save others some time.

I had a similar issue and discovered the Sucuri Security – Auditing, Malware Scanner and Hardening plugin was the cause.

Thanks @kkyany. I asked my host to disable the mod_security rule for SQL injections for my domain and it seems to have fixed the issue.

Hi @kkyang I’m having the same issue. Can please elaborate on how you solved the problem? Did you disable the mod_security rule for SQL injections for you domain?

Hi Elliot,

I am having the same problem as @[email protected] and @tnorthcutt

Images attach when you upload them directly to the post but they don’t attach when you select them from the Media library.

@williamotto, sorry I didn’t report back here. The gist of WP Engine’s reply to me was that Elliot (plugin author) is aware of the issue and they included some links to similar threads on this forum. Search for “wp engine”.

My solution was to turn of WP Engine caching while developing. Not ideal.

This is in no way a gripe from me re Elliot or ACF. The man is a gun and this plugin is incredible. Maximum respect.

I’ve had all sorts of issues with WP Engine caching…

Yep, same problem here. Fixed by disabling the Transient/Object Cache on WP Engine. Not ideal. I contacted them about it and will report back with any useful information.
