  • Hey John, thanks for letting me know it should be working.

I have now resolved the issue, it seems a custom permalink plugin was interfering with the ‘apartment’ field. I changed the field name and it’s working.

    Cheers,
    Klaye

  • Never mind, we’ve decided to select apartments from within the specials post type.

  • OK, I now have this working, although it may be a little dodgy.

I have included all ACF folders directly inside my plugin folder (folders include admin, api, assets etc).

Then whatever is inside acf.php has been placed inside my plugin PHP file, before I create any custom fields.

    Cheers,
    Klaye

  • I’m wanting to know this also. Using ACF Pro, which can’t be distributed as a plugin, so it’s included within the theme. However theme check now reports errors, so it won’t be accepted on ThemeForest.

grovepixels, did you end up finding a solution to this?

    Cheers,

  • I like this solution, but I’m hoping to extend it slightly so that some fields within the WP backend always remain the same, whereas others can be modified for each language. For example:

    – A theme colour selector should remain the same across all languages.

    – Custom footer text should be changed dependant on language.

Any ideas on how I can accomplish this?

  • Oh, so registering fields with PHP means not having to duplicate. Perfect, cheers James.

  • I’m struggling with this issue as well.

I have a theme ready to sell, using ACF Pro Flexible Content as a page builder. I’m trying to integrate WPML, because I’ll be able to get more sales with this added, however the only way for users to create pages for other languages is to first duplicate all field groups. There are 2 problems with this:

1 – ACF will be hidden for those who purchase the them, as per the requirements of theme-bundled ACF Pro.

2 – Even if it were possible, I can’t expect users to do this. I’ll receive negative ratings on the theme.

So I either need to remove WPML support and lose sales, or completely rebuild it using something that supports WPML properly. I love ACF Pro, that’s why I’m using it. Is there any way that the duplication of field groups can be automated somehow? Visual Composer does this (but I’d rather not use it).

    Cheers,
    Klaye
