It looks like the last release 5.7.9 shipped this morning fixes the issue:

Release Date – 17 December 2018
Fix – Fixed bug causing required date picker fields to prevent form submit.

I still have to test it before closing this thread.

Hi Tomoe,

Did you try to change the return value for this field (value, label, both(array)) in the field settings?
It looks like you set the return value to an array, but you’re trying to return a value.

Unfortunately, the only way I found to address this issue is to unset required fields which is not a satisfying solution.

Hi everyone!
Thanks Elliot for the tip, but from a user’s point of view that functionality should be native.
You should always prevent users to delete content by accident.
All our clients are complaining about this. They just don’t understand, especially the fact that the delete button is so close from the toggle button.

Do you plan to ship this functionality soon?

Anyway, thank you very much for your great, essential work.
