Hi James,
Thanks for the response.
As the Options Pages are generated dynamically in a multisite setup, excluding them individually will not be very user friendly.
I did not know yet about the custom location rules, i will check those out. These will most likely solve my problem.
Thanks!
Tim
Hi Anders,
Looks like we’re running a similar multisite setup. I’m experiencing the same “Unknown field group” error after saving my Child theme’s fieldgroup with Cloned Field groups loaded from the parent theme.
Did you manage to solve this problem?
Thanks,
Tim
@darisi Please be aware that there are multiple Reusable Field Group plugins:
https://github.com/mvpdesign/acf-reusable-field-group
https://github.com/tybruffy/ACF-Reusable-Field-Group
I’m using the second, i don’t know how the first one works.
Hi Darisi,
I’m not sure what you mean exactly. I just downloaded and installed the plugin. This gives me an extra option in the Field Type dropdown: Reusable Field Group.
I’m using Advanced Custom Fields Pro 5.2.8 with the latest WordPress version, in case that makes a difference.
In my php templates, i just use the regular ACF functions like get_field() to retrieve the values from the Reusable Field Group fields.
I’ve used this plugin in a couple of projects: https://github.com/tybruffy/ACF-Reusable-Field-Group
Haven’t found any problems yet
+1
I am facing similar situations where i want to reuse the same subset of fields. Duplicating all these fields over and over again is a hassle and lot’s of extra work when i want to change 1 of these fields.
I agree, would like to see this feature too!
Hi,
I’m having the same question. Is it possible to apply the Location Rules from a Field Group to Fields as well?
The Conditional Logic of Fields only allows to show / hide a Field based on the value of another Field. But for example i would like to be able to hide a single Field based on the User Role.
If possible i would like to add these Rules via the GUI and not have to create a filter (acf/load_field/name=…) for each field.
Kind regards,
Tim
