Hello @Elliot, I have again an update issue with OVH hosting.
Inside your page template you should add another WP_Query to retrieve your subpage data :
$sub_page = get_field('your_page_field');
$sub_page_query = new WP_Query('page_id='.$sub_page->ID);
while( $sub_page_query->have_posts() ) : $sub_page_query->the_post();
endwhile;
Refering to ACF doc (http://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/acf_form/), your post_id value should be set to new_post :
<?php $acf = array(
'post_id' => 'new_post',
'field_groups' => array(20),
'submit_value' => 'Submit'
); ?>
Hello @elliot ,
Thank you for your answer.
I just did a try, but it doesn’t seems to work.
My host is the french/european host OVH (ovh.com).
Let me know if you need further test or detail.
Thanks
And I forget to answer @Joe, yes I already work with ACF Pro on localhost with Mamp and everything works perfectly. I also work on site on another web host where there is no problem.
What I can’t understand, is that everything was working fine, until something changed on some providers or on ACF side. The fact that it occurs on different providers at the same time let me think that something should have changed on ACF hosting.
No progress with 5.2.0
@Joe, thank you for your message.
I just did a try, re-uploading wordpress core but it didn’t solve the problem on my config. Then I tried to upload again ACF Pro, but it is still impossible to reach the server.
Did anybody else tried this ?
Hello to all,
I had a response from OVH. They did some request in curl from their servers. Here are the results :
~$ curl -i http://connect.advancedcustomfields.com/index.php
400 Bad Request
nothing is returned
~$ curl -i http://connect.advancedcustomfields.com/index.php?a=get-info&p=pro
There are some data returned but it ends with a HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request
~$ curl -i http://assets.advancedcustomfields.com/add-ons/add-ons.json
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Everything is fine.
I did those test in my terminal and get the same results. On OVH point of view the problem comes from ACF server.
@wilirius thank you very much for the resume, I’ll try to find out with OVH where the issue is…
OVH answered me, but to be able to investigate, they need the exact functions that are used to connect to ACF. The ACF server address would be helpful to.
Does anybody knows the php function used by wordpress inside wp_remote_post and wp_remote_get ?
I received an answer from OVH, and they told me that it is not possible to make any external connexion with a file_get_contents
function on their shared hosting solution.
Does anybody know exactly the protocol and/or function used by ACF to check its update and to download the files ?
@wilirius on OVH no improvement, I’m still waiting for their response.
@wilirius I did some test on the url that was provided width this script :
<?php
$json = file_get_contents("http://connect.advancedcustomfields.com/index.php?a=get-info&p=pro");
$json = json_decode($json);
var_dump($json);
On localhost that works perfectly, I get a NULL with my host (OVH). I just wrote them and wait for their response.
Hello @Hube2, and thank you for your response.
I have to admit that I did not check if any functionality was missing (despite the automatic update). As everything was working well on localhost and I have this red error online, I thought that something was missing…
I just checked wis a template using ACF data in JSON, with tab, repeater, map, and it seems to work well… I feel a bit silly :-/
So everything seems functional except the auto-update. This is far less urgent (but remains a bug anyway).
Thank you again.
no improvement with 5.1.4 version
@universys, as I can see, yes.
I’m about to downgrade to ACF 4 if no quick solution is found…
You should make your demo on localhost, for the moment, no solution was found.
Is there a way to locally activate the pro licence and to transfer the authorization online via the database ? Or a way to include the pro plugin in the template without letting the user modifying the fields without needing to activate the licence ?
@Elliot this an issue really problematic, most of my wordpress are now using ACF, and I guess that I am not the only one, and OVH is one of the biggest host provider.
Again, if you need any access to a website or on a server to make some test, fell free to contact me.
no improvement with 5.1.3 version
The same for me, I have a website on an OVH server running ACF 4.3.9, and I can update it without any problem. All the others websites on OVH using ACF PRO 5 have issues for updating and/or activating the licence.
@Hube2 don’t know if you’re referring to me when you said ‘someone said that it worked on one installation and not on another on the same host’
On my side, nothing works with ovh.com, but it is ok with domeneshop.no
default_socket_timeout is also 60 here and
cURL support enabled version 7.21.0
