Thank you very much for your reply!

For a while that was our thinking too.

However, I accidentally left out a detail that raises some doubts. The ACF AJAX fields do not work at all. They always return ‘Loading failed’. Even when they are able to load the whole admin panel and front-end without trouble. Network connectivity aside, there must be something going on.

Hi noahkuhn,

I am experiencing the same issue.

ACF 5.3.2 is not returning arrays or URLs for file and image fields. Probably all fields where an output can be chosen – and simply returns the ID as a string.

EDIT: I have opened a bug report to increase visibility for this issue.
