ACF returning ID as string instead of an array

Hello,

I thought I would post this here to increase visibility. First mention I found of this problem a few hours ago here.

When setting a specific return value for file or image fields in an options page, the file ID is wrongly returned as a string. File Arrays and File URLs return values are not returned.

I am using latest versions of WordPress, ACF PRO and PHP.

I hope someone can shed some light on this. Thank you very much.

I’m seeing this exact same issue in 5.3.3. I have two ACF options pages and on both if I call get_field on a repeater field, it returns the count of rows in the repeater and not the actual sub-fields. I tried calling have_rows as well and it can’t find anything.
