@davenoham, I was originally trying to build a drag and drop theme builder with this code and I gave up on the project because it became too complex. Instead I found Elementor and haven’t looked back. Sorry I can’t help you more.
Got it, the method I was using before seems to do the same thing as what you are suggesting if I still need to do a manual update on each page. I will submit a support request.
Hi John,
So your first piece of code still goes in functions.php like before? The second and third code sections go in my page template?
Also, is $button supposed to be singular in the third chunk of code, I am trying to understand where you get “$buttons” from?
Thanks,
Tim
Do you still want me to fill out the support ticket, or leave it in the new forum topic I started?
Hi James,
Thanks for your response! Yes, I did start a new topic already, should have updated this forum, you can find it here:https://support.advancedcustomfields.com/forums/topic/updating-values-from-changes-on-options-page-repeater-field-for-dynamic-populate/
Thanks,
Tim
Howdy, is there any update on this?
I am in the same situation with the exact type of problem. To clarify when I update the repeater field on the Options page it dynamically populates my select fields correctly, but in order to make sure the new value is saved on the page itself where I have the select field I have to go back in and update the actual page itself. If I have the same select field with those same select options on several pages, say for a button, and I decide to change the color of the button, I will have several pages to go in and update if I ever change a value. Is there a way where if I change the value in the Repeater field on the Options page it automatically updates the values on the select fields without me having to go in and update each page manually?
Thanks for the quick response! When I turn the auto syncing off it doesn’t delete the field on the backend when I run the syncing manually. It did when I used the ACF Pro JSON Sync plugin, but that didn’t have an auto sync feature like this for the syncing feature that is baked into the plugin.
Thanks, this works great! This seems to work only with adding fields that didn’t exist before. Is there a way to automatically delete fields in the database that were deleted via their JSON files? I am using this feature on a multisite.
Hello cam503…I am running into the exact same issue. I deactivated the WPMU Dev Video plugin as well, but am working on finding a solution so I can use both the repeater plugin and the WPMU Dev video plugin. Have you come up with a solution?
Thanks,
Tim
