Temporary solution here is a rollback to WP 5.9

Most likely has something to do with: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/52648

This fixed some issues regarding the media library window and is maybe related to this?

no solution, but we had very similar issues, see here: https://support.advancedcustomfields.com/forums/topic/image-field-in-5-6-0-suddenly-returns-object/

A rollback to 5.5.14 resolved the issue for the time being.
