Just want to add my voice to this issue as it’s been happening to the sites I run ACF on since 6.3.6. I tried @clicknathan’s fix using Geoffrey’s method but it didn’t work for me. Was running 3.6.11 and still got the error. Only thing that’s worked is rolling back to 3.6.5. Since reverting a week ago I haven’t seen the error.
It would be great if this issue could be resolved soon.
To add another detail, the existing value in the field, set prior to this issue arising, shows the dashes normally. But if I replace it with the same Post from the dropdown post list, it shows the #8211 code.
Hi Inforexplore, I got the info I need from posting a new thread about it. See it here:
https://support.advancedcustomfields.com/forums/topic/google-map-field-in-admin-throws-error-when-adding-address/
Thanks whiteunicorn, that fixed the issue right away. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer!
Devs, perhaps the docs for the Map field should be updated with this fix?
Thanks again.
I’m having the exact same issue. Is it possible to make the answer public?
Like Jeff, my API key has been added as described in the docs, and the maps display correctly in both the front and back end, but only when trying to add an address do I get the same error.
Thanks.
I think this issue was fixed by a subsequent update, but now it’s happening again from another recent update.
The Blank Message fix that I mentioned does fix it still.
For what it’s worth, I ended up using a Taxonomy ‘post_tag’ field in a Repeater to achieve what I was looking for.
I’ll second what vaktmester is saying – the CSS he notes prevents this great feature from working with only a few lines.
As usual, 10 minutes after posting the question I found the issue.
I’m embarrassed to admit that in the first line of the main function where $markers is defined I had put in the selector of the .acf-map before .marker, so it was trying to look within $el (which is itself ‘.acf-map’) for another .acf-map and within that, .marker.
A stupid mistake, but hopefully someone, somewhere will find this useful!
+1 for this feature to be added.
I’m looking to get a list of all Tags in a Relationship-style of field, where the chosen list of tags can then be reordered, as we can with Posts currently.
Like RichB, the Taxonomy checklist/multiple select only gets me half way there.
I’ve been playing with the code in the link you provided Elliot but I am not having much luck so far.
Fingers crossed this will be added soon!
