Here’s where I think I am headed… about to go test a bit. Feel like I am missing something. This was inspired by multiple bits of documentation plus this post from 2019 w John’s reply
<?php
$categories= get_the_category();
if (!empty($categories)) {
$term_id = $categories[0]->term_id;
$image = get_field('category_logo_version_2', 'term_'.$term_id);
// what you do from here depends on what the field is returning
}
?>
// my educated guess at what I need to do next
<?php if( get_field('category_logo_version_2') ): ?>
// ACF is set to return the URL for this field thus no need for ['url'] before semicolon
<img class='center-image-w-css-later' src="<?php the_field('category_logo_version_2'); ?>" />
<?php endif; ?>
While I too would like the option to return a type embed the iframe code or just the url…
I separately ran into a challenge that might for some of us be caused by header Permissions Policy settings at a server level nginx/ajax mentioned in this article.
Also, be careful if there if someone working inside your vimeo account has created more than one embed Preset in case fullscreen is checked in one preset and unchecked in another… and it gets complicated if you update things and check the box to update all videos. (not always an immediate update)
More details at stackexchange for whomever might need some extra options besides pointing at ACF or WP core or whatever other thing. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/67720466/embedded-vimeo-iframe-fullscreen-not-working-in-chrome
@hube2 thanks for that solution posted 8 years ago…. It was my next question today.
Did a quick search on meta-box-order_post then deleted that and resaved my post order in acf for good measure (didn’t automatically solve it for me until I resaved) and then good!
@hube2 (problematic april) after some delays on my part, I finally got around to trying out your suggestion for the fix back on April 9th.
That did solve the problem.
Adding a screenshot w snagit colors to help others see your solution implemented visually in case it helps. (I think your suggestion was very understandable, but sometimes it helps me and maybe others to see it too).
Thank you very much!
Quick follow up… My original note on this on 4-3 was using ACF free v 6.1.3.
For unrelated reasons just upgraded to ACF Pro v 6.1.3 (also) and the same problem still persists.
I very well might have made a mistake with location rules, but I can’t see where how as things would seem to only be designated to show up on posts on a select group of Posts in specific categories (per rules).
I can see no reason why ACF fields from this group would show up on every item in the media library along with everything else in wordpress.
Just saw this old one start up again as well. Rules set up for just 8 categories were showing up on all posts, all pages, even on Media Library items.
Had a separate set of group rules for the taxonomy of category (added fields to category pages beyond description and name ) and those were not impacted.
So in case it helps troubleshoot (long shot) maybe there is a prioritization? or more likely it just doesn’t impact taxonomy edit pages.
