Formatting Custom Date in Feed

Using this method to append a custom date field instead of an image to a custom RSS feed for Woocommerce products:

RSS FeedAdd ACF image field (URL) to RSS feed

But how do I format the output date as F j Y? It displays as YYYYMMDD. It’s a DatePicker field – I’ve played around with changing the Return format, but nothing changes.

How are you getting the ACF field? Are you using get_field()?
