  • Hi,

No real solution found BUT I have identified the source of the problem : Elementor.

If you go to Elementor and edit the model corresponding to the post that you are editing in Gutenberg, you’ll probably see that the preview settings of Elementor have been reset to a post that has nothing to do with the model that you are editing. This happens all the time since a while. So, if you update the previewing settings so that the Elementor editor uses your target post for previewing, the previewing in Gutenberg will now work correctly.

Not satisfactory since our editors and authors cannot adjust the Elementor preview settings so that Elementor uses the post that is currently edited in Gutenberg but at least we kbow where the problem is. Not an ACF problem.

  • Hi,

Not 100% sure but it seems that the problem didn’t occur again since I have installed Advanced Editor Tools (previously TinyMCE Advanced).

I’ll have a look at the console whenever the problem re-appears.

  • Thanks very much.

However, I don’t have this option when adding image from the Media Library. It seems that Real Media Library is hiding it somehow (I’m using RML, Elementor and the Astra theme).

I have code in functions.php that is already doing a few things with the $image array. I could possibly do the sort there. I cannot find accurate information about which fields this array contains. Has it a filename field ?

    Hi,

Gallery field has that bulk option dropdown that allows me to sort images in gallery field by title, reverse order etc…

I don’t see this possibility when editing a Photo Gallery field when creating a custom post having such a field attached. Could you please elaborate a little?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

Actually, clearing the Firefox cache was just a temporary fix. The problem is back today even for WYSIWYG custom fields that worked correctly after the cache clearing I made yesterday.

  • Well, clearing the Firefox cache has fixed the problem. Don’t ask me why.

    Sorry.

  • Hi again,

I should have mentioned that the problem occurs even on a clean WP 5.6 installation using the default theme and with no other plugins installed beside CPT UI and ACF.
