I am just wondering why the html view on the WYSIWYG tab minifies everything. it is pretty much impossible to use. It also does not allow tags such as <hr> and others. Is there any way to get this to behave a little more like the built in WordPress content box? Clients are having a lot of trouble here.
Thanks!
Hi @stueynet
Thanks for the post. I’ll see if I can customize the tinyMCE settings to not minify the HTML popup, but I have a feeling this is an issue with the tinyMCE object which ACF use.
The HTML tab is not available to the ACF plugin as it does not allow for duplication, needed by the repeater field.
Thanks
E
@elliot, thanks so much for looking into this. I just started working with ACF and it is freakin awesome. I just happened to notice today that the HTML in the WYSIWYG seemed to be minified and then came across this post. I would be very happy if it can be made to emulate the native WordPress editor, but I also understand if it is an issue with tinyMCE object.
I am having the same issue. It is quite difficult to edit the HTML.
Is this the solution:
http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/How_to_Get_TinyMCE_to_Format_HTML_Source_Correctly_in_TinyMCE_2.0.6.1
I am not sure how to set this up with ACF
@nterry: that does look interesting! Getting the linebreaks back in the html view would certainly be nice, perhaps @elliot can look into this.
Why is this marked as solved? I came here over a year later with the same question. I really like ACF but this problem with minified HTML makes it really hard to edit formatting issues.
