WordPress 4.2.3 Update ACF Issue

  • Hi, I have a website running on Pagely hosting, so they will update your WP core continuously, and you can’t do anything about it.

So I have discovered an issue with the ACF Plugin and I can’t roll back it was all good till WP 4.2.2

The issue is classic the TinyMCE editor is broken.

    In console I get this:

Uncaught TypeError: this.$right.find(…).sortable is not a function

I had this similar problem in previous versions of WP and ACF and I have my own way to fix it, but it will be probably good to report it and you should push an update to the plugin so all of the others affected will get a fix for this issue

The editor works, you can write in it, but everything is outputted in <p> tag, none of the other html tags works, for example hyperlink title etc. also there is an issue with some shortcodes

I think you should investigate this ASAP and push an update to fix this 🙂

    Kind Regards,
    Mile

  • Did you mean 4.2.2 or 4.2.3

Update to WP 4.2.3. was reported to break several plugins. This had to do with the change in the way shortcodes are handled. However, ACF was not one of those plugins as far as I know.

I have ACF installed on several sites running both 4.2.3 and 4.2.4 and I just tested on 4.2.2 and I’m not seeing any problems.

Have you tried deactivating other plugins on your site?
