Why datas are stored in JSON ?

Hi,

I wonder why list/choice based fields are stored in JSON in DB.

They are actually stored as serialized data. ACF holds these values as arrays and when WP saves these values to the DB it converts them to serialized data. This is how WP stores all objects and arrays.

Ok, thank you. It’s not very optimized for DB speed to store list of values serialized, it’s strange…
