Where is the author field?

I have a field group (survey) that has data for each field. I can find that data in the post_meta table. But, each field group entry was created by a user. I can’t figure out to tell which user entered which field group data using the data. Is the author/user data serialized somewhere? Or, is there a key I can use to find the relationship? Please help.
