Using Custom Tables instead of Post-Meta

I read this great article:

And I’m looking to do something similar. Just wondering if anyone has used the Alpha of his plugin or done something like this. I’d like to still use ACF, but not store the data in postmeta because of how darned slow it is. Takes forever when I have 30,000+ posts to do WP queries.
