Using acf_form to create new post with post categories/taxonomies

How to add post categories/taxonomies to the acf_form to create new post? I’m using verision 5.

Do I have to add a taxonomy field to the form? If so, can I use a normal select menu and not select2?

Yes, you could add a taxonomy field to the form. Make sure to turn on the sync in the taxonomy field options.
