User permissions to hide access to ACF field groups?

Is there a way to set user permissions for acf fields or field groups as a whole? I’d like clients to not have access whatsoever to the custom fields.

ACF has a setting “show_admin” that can be used to hide the admin https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/acf-settings/

This could be applied based on the current users permissions or role.
