Upgrade from 4.4.12(free) to Most Recent Version(Pro) Kills field groups

I’ve followed the instructions here: https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/upgrade-guide-version-5/

I’ve done this several times on several of our sites and not had a problem until now. Someone mentioned Sucuri causing issues? Don’t have it so that’s not it.

All fields are ACF so the PHP thing shouldn’t be an issue…

Any ideas what the dealio might be? This is very, very frustrating. 🙂
