Updating Field Name Without Losing Contents

Hi guys,

I’m sorry if this question has been asked before, I found one version of it without any feedback.

For a reason I won’t go into I need to change some fields around in ACF on a site that’s been live for a while. There is about a year’s worth of content that then would no longer work, since I would be editing the ACF entries.

Is there a way, perhaps a plugin, that enables us to refactor the database to match the ‘old’ content with with updated field names/setups? If not, could this become an option in the future? I think it’s a vital element of the plugin once bigger sites start using ACF primarily for content, instead additional options.
