Update field value on button click

I’d like to create a pledge button that auto-updates the number of supporters when users click.

I’m currently using ACF Pro with Oxygen. I’d like to use an Oxygen button as the trigger for the field update.

I’ve seen several adjacent solutions, but nothing that directly addresses my use-case.
