Text Area field is occasionally encoding IE conditional comments

  • I have a Text Area field (set to No Formatting) used for inputting custom HTML code into the site. When I add HTML to this field everything is OK, but after a few days the IE conditional statements in the Text Area become encoded. I’m talking about the text inside the Text Area field, not the field’s output. For example <!--[if lte IE 8]> gets changed to & lt ;!--[if lte IE 8]& gt ;. (spaces added to prevent converting to HTML)

I don’t know what’s causing this and we (the client and I) can’t figure out exactly when it’s happening. I have some theories, like maybe there’s a browser extension installed that’s doing it, but I really have no idea.

I’m wondering if anyone at ACF has seen this before and knows what could be causing it.
