Before switching to 5.7 when you created a new Field and added Special characters in the title like “>” or ” ‘ “, ACF removed it when it generated the field name.
Nowadays the special characters are still there. So I end up with field name like “event_>_title”.
Technically it works, but isn’t it a bad idea to store a field name with special characters in the database ?

Yes, it usually is a bad idea to include special characters in field names. ACF 5.7 has had a major change in the JS API. You should contact support about this issue here https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/contact/
