Run function in repeater add / page save

Hey,
Trying to add custom value to field by default
I have repeater with 3 fields – “name”, “description”, “code”

What I want to do is –
When the user add repeater row – that a custom function will be run, and add random number to “code” field

If that can’t be possible, I assume that there is option to do that after the user click “publish”

Please let me know how it possible to do that
