Hello there. I’m trying to make a filterable database and one of the filters I need is to filter a list of contractors by the geographic area they cover. Basically like enter in a City or ZIP Code and show which contractors work within say 50 miles of it.
Can this be done with ACF? And if so, how?

You will need more then just ACF to your filter work.
I recommend you to use ACF map to save the location of your contractors and then use Google’s API “Distance Matrix” to filter the results on your query.

There are times when ACF is useful and there are times when something else is a better choice. If I wanted to create a CPT that I could filter based on geo location I would likely use https://www.wpgmaps.com/purchase-professional-version/
