When editing a page, Id like to find a way to check if an acf text field value already exists. If the field value (in this case it’s a building address ) does exist then an alert will be given. This is to prevent duplicate entries. thanks in advance.

Hello,

Thanks for getting in touch!

You can create some custom PHP logic to check if the entered value already exists on the database and display an error if it fails validation.
Here is a filter that you can use: https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/acf-validate_value/

I hope this info helps. Thanks
