Post categories in widget

Hey,

I’ve recently rediscovered ACF Pro brilliant Widget capabilies, and have been merrily adding fields to a widget I’m making.

Everything works exceedingy smoothly, as expected with ACF – with one exception: I’ve added a taxonomy checkbox field, connected to standard post categories (set to read categories from WP).

What happens is that the per-widget categories selection is written back to the database correctly, but on reloading the WP widget page, is not displayed correctly (see screenshots below).

I’ve tried setting the field to “Save Terms – Connect selected terms to the post”, but that does not make a difference.

What am I missing here?
