Pasting from Google Docs > ACF repeater text field

  • Hey guys,

I’ve hit an issue where we have older sites (pre-gutenberg) where articles are being written in Google Docs, and when they’re being pasted into the flexible content fields, they’re brinigng over all these font-weight: 400 spans that are obviously overriding the sites font formatting rules.

Any solution for working with Google Sheets which doesn’t involve exporting the content for Word (some of the writers don’t have Word and I’d actually like to phase it out since I’m otherwise using Google for everything else.).

So far the best solutions I have are:
    – Manually remove the tags
    – Paste as plain text then manually readd all the cross links, bolds, italics, etc
    – Export the Google sheet for Word and paste in from there instead

I’m debating creating a regex filter or something, but not sure the best way to tackle that, and it feels like that would a problem someone has already solved.

It’s worth noting, on newer sites I’m using the gutenberg editor which doesn’t bring over these spans.
