Fairly new to ACF, I always just coded what I needed into the theme but started using sage development theme from roots and they recommend ACF so I thought I’d check it out…
Anyway, I’m struggling to find a way to be able to set a field that can select a link to an archive page, how can this be done?
That would depend on what version of ACF you’re using. If you’re using ACF4 (from the wordpress.org) then you’ll need to use a URL field, or with some work a text field.
If you’re using ACF5 which is currently only available here https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/pro/, then there are a couple of other options. The page link field in ACF5 has options not available in ACF4 and there is the new Link field type. Will free version of ACF 5 become available at some point? Really this archive link feature is the only thing I feel is missing in most use cases I’ve come across so far.
The developer has said that a free version of ACF5 will be released this year, that’s all that I really know.
