I want to give the pages on my WordPress site ID’s. Most of them will simply mirror the URL (slug). For example, the page mysite/contact would display this:
<body id=”contact”
Someone told me I can accomplish that with the ACF plugin. Is this true?
If so, can someone give me step-by-step instructions on how to do that? I’ve been playing around with the settings, and I don’t have a clue what I’m doing.

ACF is not required for this, but you could use it for a custom ID value. In either case you would just create a body_class filter, see https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/hooks/body_class/
