No oEmbed on WYSIWYG

  • If I cut and paste a video URL (eg. YouTube or Vimeo) into any WYSIWYG editor window, the video gets embedded… unless it’s a WYSIWYG editor window on a Category page. If it’s a category page then it just appears as a plaintext link.

What can I do about this?

  • Hi @johnnywalkerdesign

That’s because WordPress needs the current post ID to save the parsed embed code in the database. When you add it on the Category editor page, the current page doesn’t have the post ID; so the process failed. This means that it can’t be done, I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

I hope this makes sense 🙂
