Hi,
I found a bug (I think!) concerning the ACF and the “edit category” page. I create 4 custor fields to be showed only in categories page (so, the condition is: tassonomy term EQUAL TO categories). The fields are available in category page (as you can see in the first image: hhttp://imgur.com/1prp051 – inside the red box), BUT they aren’t in category edit page (second image: http://imgur.com/i9ZS8HX). Then, I can create a new category using my custom fields, but I cannot edit CF of categories already created.
Is there any workaround? IT worked in previous version, both ACF and WP. I tried with firefox and chrome, same issue.
Thank you,
Domingo
Hi @domingo
It is possible that there is JS error on the page which will prevent the ACF fields from displaying on the edit category screen.
Can you please check your console log for any JS errors.
Thanks
E
Thank you @elliot!
I’m not good in java debugging, so I hope I did right…
I found an error when I open the edit category page:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method ‘substr’ of undefined http://[mysite]/wp-admin/load-scripts.php?c=0&load%5B%5D=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,wp-ajax-response,inline-edit-tax,plupload,plupload-html5,plupload-flash,plupload-silverlight,pl&load%5B%5D=upload-html4,json2&ver=3.8
I don’t know if it could be related with my issue. If not, please tell me where I should looking for accurately.
Thanks,
Domingo
Hi @domingo
Thanks for the follow up. Yes, this JS error explains why ACF is failing to render onto the page.
Because this error is coming from the core JS file of WP, I am not sure what the issue is, but it is most likely a plugin or theme code causing this error.
I would start disabling plugins until the issue resolves itself, then contact the relevant plugin developer with the error for them to fix.
Thanks

You’re definitely right, @elliot! It was a problem with another plugin, in particular polylang. Now with the new version (1.4) everything is ok.
Thank you!
Domingo
