Is it possible to mute a Youtube video in oEmbed? I’ve been trying and I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or if its not possible but I can’t seem to get it to play muted. Could you offer any suggestions?

The oembed is actually handled by WP core function: https://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds
and the shortcode only take two parameters, height and width. So I think that in this case the answer is no, it’s not possible ATM 🙂
Altho you could post a ticket to WP dev about possibly adding the ability to set muting on the shortcode.
I ended up just using the Youtube embed script and running the function to mute it when the player is ready and using ACF text field to provide the video ID to the script. It works. =)

Alright 🙂 Yeah that’s the way I also used to include youtube-clips etc. before oembed. Apologies for not suggesting it to you as an alternate solution..
