I would like to create the field groups per product type, rather than creating many individual field groups and applying many specific filters and rules.
I am interested in learning about an option that allows for not just moving the fields from one group to another, but sharing the fields between the two groups.
The idea is we will have a field that will be used on two or more different products types. The end goal is to create facets to filter for these fields.
Clone fields will do the part of having fields shared in groups.
But this will be problematic when it comes to searching and filtering posts. Clone fields are stored in much the same way as repeater and flex fields making the data complicated to search. In addition to this, any of the field types besides those listed under “Basic” are also difficult to search and filter by because they store serialized data or other types of things like ID references.
