Marking Custom Field As Required Not Working with Gutenberg

  • By activating Gutenberg in WordPress 4.98 required fields are ignored when saving a post – it saves even if the fields are left empty. My Workaround is the switch back to classic Editor but I would like to play around with Gutenberg…

Just updated to pro 5.7.10, still no solution?

  • Using the latest PRO version and also running into this issue on WordPress 5.1.1. Any fix on the horizon? Using the classic editor works, but this cannot be a permanent solution.

  • I’m also having this issue with Gutenberg. My custom field is set to position “side” if that is helpful.

  • Why is this topic marked as “solved”? This problem still exists in ACF 5.8.0 and WordPress 5.x.

Why is this topic marked as “solved”? This problem still exists in ACF 5.8.3 and WP version 5.2.3?

Is the solution to switch to the classic editor?

    Thanks,
    🙂

  • I don’t know why this is marked as solved, but it may as well be. As stated in other topics, this is not something the developer of ACF can fix on the ACF side of things.
