I work on a project which contains option for a inherited meta fields. There is option for set product colors or set colors to be inherited from products category.
It would be a really usefull to have locked field, which can get color-taxonomies from product and display them, but would not allow change them. Basically you could view some fields value but not change it.
Another improvement for next level locked field could be setting for locking fields based on user role. This could be also implemented generally to display fields by user role.
