Links wrapping regular Text Area fields, without an update to page template

Hello,

We are experiencing some odd behavior with linking using the regular text area field. We only began seeing this issue with the most recent WordPress update to 5.0.3.

When a manual link is present in the text field, sometimes the entire field is linked. At first this behavior started with a text area field that was using manual links (<a href=”” etc.) in the text area field, but is now present where there are no links at all.

Also, in other text area fields, it appears that a link tag was inserted (or the plugin is mistaking the regular text field for one of the new link fields) around the whole field. It’s not consistent, so it’s harder to pinpoint what the real issue is. The page template for this theme has not been updated.

Has anyone else seen or been able to solve this issue? I have attempted to contact ACF support several times over the last few days with no response. Thank you.
