JavaScript performance issues with repeater and selec field (user)

  • Hi,
I’m having an issue with the repeater field and ACF PRO 5.3.8.

I created an “user” subfield that I use in a post, so when I try to make a selection on the dropdown the ajax loader keeps searching with no results and then wordpress display a “Connection Lost” error.

I think it might be because of the number of my rows or users (about 2600), I found a thread with a similar issue: https://support.advancedcustomfields.com/forums/topic/huge-javascript-performance-issues-with-repeater-fields-when-over-100-fields/. I must say the solution of this user works for me too but I’m not sure if this could mess up something else or causing a bad funcionality.

What else can I do to solve this?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi @gumm

ACF will only load 20 users when you search the users. It’s possible that your server can’t handle the query for a lot of users. Could you please test it out by cloning your site to another server or your local machine that have higher specifications?

If the issue persists, could you please open a new ticket here: https://support.advancedcustomfields.com/new-ticket? Please provide temporary admin credentials and explain the issue again in that ticket.

    Thanks 🙂
