Image Field doesn't open the library

In the help section on the Image Field, the screenshots displayed aren’t anything like what is displayed in my fields.

On the help it shows “Add Image” button which opens the library to select an existing image or upload a new one.

Mine on the other hand shows a “Choose File” button and when clicked, opens up a Windows folder to upload a new image.

Why doesn’t mine use the library? Is there a setting somewhere? If so, I cant for the life of me find anything about it!

Whether or not ACF shows the media library or the basic upload field depends on the user that is accessing the front end form and the permissions they have. If a user is not logged in they can never see the library. If they are logged in it depends on the users permissions and if they are allowed to access it.
