If field name is too long, it does not save

I just encountered a bug I thought I’d share with you.

I had a field in an Options page called “donkey-legal_liability_breed_society_or_donkey_sanctuary_discount” and whenever I tried to save a value on that page it got wiped out.

Changing the name to something shorter fixed it, so is there a bug where the length of the name causes problems?

If so, you should set a ‘maximum name length’ filter and stop people saving one too long.

I encountered this problem again, in ACF5 PRO. It baffled me for a while then I realised the name was too long.

Are you going to add a check for long names?
