IE7 JavaScript bug

  • When editing a user with IE7 with ACF enabled but no fields defined for users everything works fine – no JavaScript errors.

But when I add an ACF field to users I get a JavaScript error after the fields have loaded (this wouldn’t be much of a problem normally, but it prevents conditional logic fields from appearing/disappearing).

The error as reported by IE7 is Line: 3 / Char: 22102 / Error: Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment. Some investigation reveals the file is /wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js. That’s line 2583 of http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.1.js .

The bug does not occur in IE8’s IE7 emulation mode.

I don’t know if an IE7 bug is considered a bug or not – I couldn’t find any documentation about which browsers are officially supported by ACF.
