How to automatically add value at new field of old entries?

Hi there,

I have a CPT “Events” which already has many entries.

We now need to introduce a new field called “Countries” as we want to start listing events of different countries. We will need to be filtering the posts based on this new field in the future.

So far I haven’t been using such a field, so if I just add it, all the existing entries will has a blank value at “country”, right?

Is there a way to set a value at this new field in bulk? (all the values should be the same, ideally a choice from dropdown).

Thanks for the question.

Yes this is possible with the use of the ACF select field type. With this field, it makes it possible to select some choices which will populate the field, you also get to chose the default value which will be loaded when creating a new post / page.
