Resolved:How do I set featured image?

I made a field attached to featured image type as in below image.

This uploads the image under wp-content/uploads, but the image isn’t accessible from media library. And featured image is always left empty.

I’m not really understanding the functions of ACF, but do we always have to insert custom functions.php (https://support.advancedcustomfields.com/forums/topic/set-image-as-featured-image/) after setting up fields, in order to make things work?

When I changed the view within media library, I was able to see all the uploaded images.
